Match Previews | One of the highlights of the season in the Hampden FNL Netball circles came last weekend in Melbourne, when the Under 17 team claimed the State Title in impressive fashion.
It was a testing lead-up, with the team losing Warrnambool's Sakia Gould to injury on Thursday, and a late call-up of Stella Marris from South Warrnambool providing attacking boost, while the night before the tournament Roosters young gun Maya Rhodes was struck down by illness.
Despite this, the side delivered a masterclass performance and secured a thoroughly deserved championship. T
he victory was achieved by an outstanding group of 11 players, supported strongly by coaches Will Jamison and Josie Ellerton.
The U15 and U13 squads were also outstanding, winning a large bulk of their matches but ultimately falling short of progression to the main decider.
