The Early Crow

Bendigo FNLMatch Previews | THE Bloods from South Bendigo will up the pressure when they play on Gisborne’s court in Saturday’s 11th round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Bendigo FNL season.

It’s a huge match for the Bloods and Bulldogs at Melbourne North Truck Centre Oval in Gisborne’s Gardiner Reserve.

The showdown between fourth and third starts at 2.30pm.

Both teams are locked on six wins, but it’s Gisborne which holds third place on percentage.

The Lauren Bowles-coached South Bendigo is yet to beat any of the competition’s top three this season.

In round two it was Gisborne which scored a 47-40 victory on South Bendigo’s court at Harry Trott Oval in Kennington.

The Tarryn Rymer-coached Gisborne will be determined to bounce back from last Saturday’s 10-goal loss to Kangaroo Flat at Bendigo Mazda Oval in Dower Park.

As the Bulldogs were beaten the Bloods scored a 63-44 win at home against Strathfieldsaye Storm.

First of the A-grade matches on Saturday will be at 1.30pm when Golden Square plays Eaglehawk at Gourmet Pantry Oval in Golden Square’s Wade Street.

It’s an extremely close tussle on the premiership ladder between the Bulldogs and Hawks who are locked on 12 premiership points.

Golden Square is on 95.3 per cent and Eaglehawk on 95.2.

The winner has a chance to dislodge the Jess Mangan-coached Strathfieldsaye from the fifth rung.
