Weekly Advertiser | Horsham A Grade netballers climbed back onto the winner’s list at the weekend, defeating top-five side Ararat 61-49.

The Demons led at every change with a particularly impressive third quarter, where they outscored the Rats 16-10.

Centre Febey McClure and goal shooter Imogen Worthy, scoring 44 goals, were impressive, as the Demons also welcomed back captain Ebonie Salter in what is sure to be a boost ahead of finals.

Salter, who has not played since round 11 due to injury, played just one quarter against the Rats, who also welcomed back Paige Biddle, sister of Rats coach Faith, into their side for her first game of the season.

The Rats’ attacking end has looked different with usual goal attack Maggie Astbury out since round 10.

But, shooting 24 goals against the Demons, Laney McLoughlan stepped into the goal-attack position beautifully on Saturday and was judged one of Ararat’s best, along with young gun Bridie Price in defence.

Stawell continued on its midseason purple patch, scoring a 59-47 win over Nhill.

Warriors goal shooter Ayva Mitchell proved a hot target in the circle, shooting 51 goals, as defender Lisa Considine showed her experience to be a steady influence for the Warriors.
