The AFL Legends Game

Bellarine FNLGeelong Times | NEWCOMB Power goal shooter Carly Sanders is aiming for a statement win over perennial finalists Torquay this weekend to give her coach a winning send-off.

Saturday’s match will be head coach Lisa Robinson’s last match in charge after three years at the helm.

Robinson has led Power’s senior netball program into finals contention since taking the reigns and was awarded the Joy Grubb Award as AFL Barwon Senior Netball Coach of the Year in 2024.

Sanders said the group is striving to send her off in style with a second win over Torquay for the year.

“Our win against Torquay earlier this year really gave us belief and was a turning point for our season,” she said.

“We’ve had some great battles against them, most recently in elimination finals.

Our eyes are firmly on going out with a bang and saluting Lisa who has done so much for our club.”

Sanders has relished in a leadership role under Robinson, becoming one of the Bellarine Football Netball League’s top shooters with more than 450 goals shot this season.
