The Dogs cleared a tricky hurdle by beating much-improved Nirranda 56-44 in warm conditions at Nirranda Recreation Reserve on Saturday.
The victory came thanks to a 17-7 second term, which allowed them take a decisive 12-goal lead into the long break.
