Woodside continued their strong start to the season with a comfortable 15 goal victory against the Gormandale Tigers, 55 to 40.

Last year's grand finalists Rosedale opened their season account with victory over Cowwarr in a tough contest.

Heyfield demonstrated that they are one of the marked improvers in the competition, the Kangaroos brushing aside with ease a new look Magpie line-up to comfortably win 53 to 23.

Reigning premiers Churchill have started the season strongly, the Cougars easily accounting for rivals TTU with an eight goal victory.

Boisdale/Briagolong posted their first win of the season in a high scoring contest against Sale City, the Bombers winning 54 to 41 goals.
