MPN FNLMedia Release | The Mornington Peninsula Football Netball League (MPFNL) via a motion raised by the MPFNL Board and successfully voted in by its member clubs would like to announce the beginning of the MPFNL Senior Women’s Football Competition in 2024.

While a majority of MPFNL Clubs already have Women’s Football programs, competing in the South Eastern Women’s Football League in 2023, it was voted that not only would the MPFNL Senior Women’s Football begin in 2024, that the Bass Coast Breakers, Warragul Industrials, Cerberus & Frankston Football Club would also have their Women’s teams join as associate members specific to this competition.

Women’s Football has played a major role within the MPFNL community with Bonbeach FNC, Edithvale-Aspendale FNC, Hastings FNC, Karingal FNC, Mornington FNC, Pines FNC, Pearcedale FNC, Red Hill FNC, Seaford FNC & Tyabb FNC all having current Women’s Football Teams and from 2024 will be competing under the same MPFNL League banner as their Male Football & Netball club-mates.

The MPFNL Board & AFL South East administration are hopeful this will see further growth of other MPFNL clubs participating in this competition in 2024 and beyond. The MPFNL has a proud Football history dating back to 1908 through various competition iterations and in 2024 welcomes a new era of having Women’s Football encompassed in its Football & Netball League.
