Border Mail | NORTH Albury maintained its grip on third place on the ladder with a slogging 11-point win against a determined Wodonga at Bunton Park on Saturday.
The Hoppers made it five wins on the trot and have taken their season win-loss record to an impressive 7-3 as they move closer to securing a finals position.
The win was set up by a clutch first quarter that had them leading by 20 points at quarter-time after both teams had six scoring shots.
Craig Mannagh, who was standing in for the absent Jason Akermanis, was happy to get the points but frustrated by giving up a great start.
"We fell into the old trap of thinking it was just going to happen after a great start," Mannagh said.
"Full credit to Wodonga as they came back hard, but we need to be better than that if we are going to push further into the season.
"It was a real challenging game and some wasted chances by both sides, particularly us in the last term, was very frustrating indeed."
