lavingtonBorder Mail |LAVINGTON veteran John Hunt turned back the clock with a vintage display in the Panthers' 76-point win over Corowa-Rutherglen at Lavington Oval on Saturday.

Hunt kicked three goals playing off a wing and half-back flank as the home team gained some confidence ahead of this weekend's crunch match against Yarrawonga.

Matt Sharp, Justin Koschitzke, Mitch Palmer, Nick Meredith and Sam Harris were also prominent for the victors.

Coach James Saker said they were solid rather than spectacular.

"It wasn't a great spectacle but we stuck at it," Saker said.

"We moved the ball well at times particularly late in the game."

Corowa-Rutherglen workhorse Sam Carpenter was a lion-hearted performer over four quarters while coach Bryce Campbell had his moments in attack and through the midfield.

Youngster Jack Schilg and on-baller Hayden Singe battled gamely against the odds.
