Border Mail |YARRAWONGA co-coach Brendan Fevola could miss up to six matches with a broken foot.
The Ovens and Murray's leading goalkicker injured himself in last weekend's loss to Lavington, and again in Tuesday night's E.J. Whitten Legends match at Etihad Stadium.
He lasted only minutes for the Sam Kekovich-coached Victorian team before being forced from the field.
Fevola's foot was in a cast yesterday, with the Coleman medallist estimating he would spend between four and six matches on the sidelines.
"I wanted to get out there, obviously, so (I had) a bit of local (anaesthetic) in it, but it didn't work," Fevola said on TV during the charity match.
Fevola left the ground during the third quarter against Lavington on Saturday but surprisingly played three days later in the Legends match.
The injury is a devastating blow to Yarrawonga's chances of staying in the top five, with the Pigeons facing a crunch match against Wodonga at J.C. Lowe Oval on Saturday.
In better news for last year's grand finalists, officials are confident half-forward Kayne Pettifer will play against the Bulldogs despite breaking his nose against the Panthers.
Meanwhile, Wodonga Raiders have continued their late recruiting spree by signing Frankston Bombers player Duncan Proud, who has played eight matches for the Nepean league club this season and regularly featured in its best.
His arrival comes 24 hours after Northern Territory speedster Dion Munkara committed to play at Birallee Park.
