Border Mail | The Yarrawonga Pigeons dusted up the North Albury Hoppers in a game of experience versus youth on Saturday.
The 52-37 victory was the seventh straight win for the Pigeons and keeps them on top of the ladder with a points percentage 20-goals better than the Lavington Panthers, also yet to drop a game.
Yarrawonga was in front most of their game against the Hoppers.
The young side stuck it to the flag favourites though with accurate shooting and tough-nosed defence.
North Albury’s Paige McMillian got 22 from 27 shooting and Grace Senior got 13 from 16.
Meanwhile Yarrawonga’s shooters had a rough day, converting on 68 per cent of their attempts.
The well-drilled Pigeons managed to generate more chances than the Hoppers with star shooter Bridget Cassar getting 37 goals alone.
Yarrawonga will face their biggest test this round against the Panthers.
