Border Mail | Wodonga Raiders’ boom recruit Brodie Filo will go into the round one clash against three-time premier Albury without a practice match.
Filo was one of a number of top-line players who missed the club’s five-goal win over Wangaratta Rovers.
“It was a high pressure, high intensity game which is what we were after leading into the opening round,” Rovers’ co-coach Sam Carpenter said.
Milawa recruit Ben Clarke, Chris Knowles and Isaac Willett impressed for the Hawks.
Rovers were unscathed while Raiders’ star Jydon Neagle is expected to recover from a slight cork.
