League Review | A stunning final quarter comeback from Myrtleford and an amazing individual bag of goals from Pigeon Leigh Williams highlighted round seven of the SSA OMFNL.
The Saints with just five goals to three quarter time were facing a twenty-five-point deficit and likely defeat against Wodonga, before unleashing its best football of the season. Led by Simon Curtis, Sam Martyn, and Brodie Ricardi they piled on nine goals to two to finish twenty-point winners to put the Doggies finals hopes in doubt. Wodonga who had led in the third quarter at one stage by thirty-three points had been so impressive until the final term barrage sunk them.
Albury proved too strong for an undermanned Lavington winning a highly entertaining game at the Lavington Sportsground by 59 points. Best on ground was Mat Walker in just his third game at the club. Walker who has been playing VFL with North Melbourne capped off a great game with six goals. Fletcher Carroll, Shaun Daly, and Lucas Conlan were other Tigers to shine in front of an excellent crowd in perfect Autumn conditions.
