WANGARATTA Rovers star Jamie Sheahan faces another month on the sidelines after re-injuring his troublesome quad.

In a savage blow for the Hawks, the bullocking midfielder said last night he was unsure when he would return to the field after a mishap at training on Tuesday.

Sheahan, 22, suffered a grade-2 tear in his right quad in the lead-up to the Rovers’ clash with Myrtleford in round 9.

He hasn’t played since.

With crunch games against Albury, North Albury and Yarrawonga to follow this week’s showdown against Lavington, Sheahan said that only made things worse.

“It’s pretty disheartening, to be honest,” Sheahan said last night.

“I was meant to come back this week but hurt it at training on Tuesday.

“It’s pretty frustrating.

“Especially when you do all the rehab and get back to square one, only to injure it again.

“We’ve got some big games coming up and you want to be out there, so it only makes things harder.”

Sheahan said he was hopeful of returning in time for the Hawks’ clash with North Albury on August 3.

It’s not all bad news for Rovers, however, with Sam Caruso last night picked to make his return from injury against Lavington.

The Panthers, meanwhile, regained key trio Luke Garland, Rory Muggivan and Tom Hargreave for tomorrow’s finals-shaping clash at the W.J. Findlay Oval.

Ross Hill will play game 300 for the Hawks, with Myles Aalbers set to play his 100th for the Panthers.

Elsewhere, Michael Thompson will play his first game for Albury since straining a hamstring in the dying stages of the Tigers’ thrilling loss to Yarrawonga on the Queen’s Birthday weekend.

Albury co-captain Luke Daly will line up in the

seniors for the 100th time against North Albury at Bunton Park.

The Hoppers made just the one change for the cross-town blockbuster, with Ben Ryan coming into the side at the expense of Chris Taylor.

Brandon Turner will make his debut for Wodonga when the Bulldogs host Wodonga Raiders at John Flower Oval.
