Match Previews | Three rounds left in the SS&A OMFNL with a thrilling final race on in both football and netball with top five finishing positions anyone’s guess.
While the makeup of the netball top five has been known for a month the last position in the football is on a knife edge with Wodonga, North Albury and Lavington still in the race.
First up let’s look at what 4th placed Rovers can achieve – they need to win one of its last three matches to be assured of playing finals.
They play Wodonga this week at home, then are away to Yarrawonga and finish off the season with a home game against North Albury.
If they were to lose its next two matches the final game against North Albury could be to decide who plays finals – if North Albury beat Myrtleford this week.
The Hoppers who as mentioned travel to Myrtleford this week must win this week as they have the bye in round 17 – their percentage is over 30% behind any team in the top five.
Wodonga currently in fifth place needs to win one of its last three matches to guarantee finals. They do have a tough draw with all three games against top-four teams.
Their game away to Rovers is their best chance of getting a win with the final two games against Albury (away) and then Yarrawonga at home.
