LAVINGTON coach James Saker isn’t expecting a let-down from the injury-ravaged Panthers after their biggest win in his coaching tenure.

Lavington, which stunned Yarrawonga by 45 points last Saturday, faces a danger game against a resurgent Corowa-Rutherglen tomorrow.

The Roos are the O and M’s most improved team and have won their past four games.

Saker said he was confident the Panthers would maintain their form from the weekend but admitted the dangers of complacency would be addressed.

“I’m not concerned about a lapse but it is going to be spoken about,” Saker said last night.

“Until we put in those types of performances week in, week out, there will be some lingering doubt.

“Having said that, I have faith in the team that they will come to play.

“I’m anticipating a really good challenge and we are looking forward to it.”

Lavington is still without a host of big names but was buoyed by a couple of handy inclusions last night.

Midfield veteran Kade Stevens was named to return from a calf problem, while speedster Mitch Palmer also earned a recall.

In a shock, gun forward Justin Koschitzke was named to play after booting six goals in the Panthers’ win over Yarrawonga.

He had been expected to miss with a quad complaint and is still no certainty to play.

The Roos made four changes, with Michael Kinsella, Luke Prescott, Damien Wilson and young gun Jed Brain coming in for Mick Mattingly, Gerard Ormond, Kade Wilson and Alex Wilson.

Saker was wary of the Roos.

“It’s hard to tell before you’ve played them but from what I have seen they are a really even side,” he said.

“They are a lot more composed with the footy this year and have got a few guys up forward taking a catch.

“They move the ball really well, which means our pressure is going to have to be right up.

“We’ve reached a good standard and now it is all about getting there again.”
