MYRTLEFORD considered abandoning Saturday's spiteful Ovens and Murray third grade match against North Albury at Bunton Park.

Saint officials confirmed yesterday they threatened to take their players from the field after a series of spot-fires broke out across the ground during the second and third quarters.

Four North Albury players — Elliott Longfield, Joel Escott, Trayvon Lawrence and Callum Fisher — were booked on six charges while Myrtleford's Ryan Bisinella and Luke Waters were also reported by central umpire Thomas Gardner.
