Border Mail | WODONGA has signed 2009 Albury premiership enforcer Ben Fixter.
The midfielder has spent the past few seasons playing in the Riverina league and will be joined at the Bulldogs by Coolamon teammate Mitch Stephenson.
Stephenson is a running defender who is likely to be used off half-back.
Wodonga coach Dean Harding said yesterday the pair would complement his inexperienced list.
"Ben brings a wealth of experience having played AFL for Brisbane Lions and Sydney Swans and will assist our young list, while Mitch has established himself in the RFL, representing the league, and is excited about the challenge of playing good, consistent Ovens and Murray football," he said.
"The footy club is thrilled to add more quality people to our developing group."
Fixter and Stephenson were premiership teammates at Coolamon in 2013 under Matt Hard.
Fixter, 33, played 54 AFL matches and was used as a crash and bash player by Albury in its 2009 campaign.
Wodonga has brought in a handful of experienced players over the off-season, including former stars Daniel Bradshaw and Jarrod Twitt.
