Border Mail |COROWA-Rutherglen captain Jamie Seymour has signed with Wahgunyah.
In a shock move with the classy midfielder approaching 200 matches, Seymour has opted to follow Roo teammates Dylan Cook, Dean Druce and Dean Skinner to the Tallangatta and District league club.
The decision will hit Corowa-Rutherglen hard as the club attempts to build on last year's elimination final loss to Wangaratta Rovers.
While Sam Carpenter, Lachie Longmire and Lee Schmidt will be valuable additions, they have been offset by the exits of Seymour, Lachie McLarty, Mick Collins, Sean Kelly and Michael Kinsella.
Wahgunyah coach Nic O'Bryan said Seymour would be a valuable addition to the Lions' midfield.
"He's obviously a very good player," he said.
