TARRAWINGEE coach Finton Eames says North Wangaratta isn’t going anywhere. The Bulldogs tackle the reigning premier on Saturday and Eames said the Hawks, who won their opening round clash by a whopping 258 points, had shown no sign off dropping off this year. “I’ve got no doubt they’ll be thereabouts again this year,” Eames said.
“They haven’t lost too many and we’ll certainly have to be on our game this weekend.
“They’ve got a wide range of quality.”
But Eames isn’t daunted by the task.
He said the Bulldogs had improved since last season and would go into the clash full of confidence after a hard-fought win over Bright in round 1 a fortnight ago.
“We’re looking forward to it, more than anything,” Eames said.
“At this stage we think we’re in a good position to have a good year.
“We think we’ve filled a few voids that we think we might have had during the past few years in a few key positions.
“It’s something we’ve really worked on.
“We think we’ve recruited quality blokes.”
Jordan Fisher, Jordan Solimo, Daniel McCormick, Trevor Edwards and Jesse Hemmens headline those inclusions.
