Seymour took the spoils in its game against Mansfield in a hard-fought 15-point win at Kings Park on Saturday.
After falling behind in the first quarter of the Goulburn Valley Football League under-18 clash, Seymour recovered with two big efforts in the second and third quarters to establish a sizeable 27-point lead heading into three-quarter time.
After kicking 1.5 to Mansfield’s 3.2 in the opening period, Seymour managed to turn the majority of its goal-kicking opportunities into six points during the next two quarters, kicking 8.5, while Mansfield’s own accuracy woes did little to halt the Lions storming to the front, only managing to kick 2.5 for the same two quarters.
