Western Bulldogs midfielder Daniel Cross says he would like to play O&M when his AFL career finished. YARRAWONGA’S AFL star Tom Lonergan says he’s unlikely to play for the Pigeons once he’s finished at the highest level.

But Albury-raised Western Bulldogs’ ace Daniel Cross says he wants to play for the ­Tigers.

Lonergan, who played his 100th match for Geelong on Saturday night, risks more than most when he runs out each week after a sickening clash with Brad Miller in 2006 left him with one kidney.

That life-threatening injury, coupled with the Pigeons’ recent spate of success, has the defender leaning towards an early retirement once his time is up at Geelong.

“I haven’t really thought about it, to be honest,” Lonergan said.

“I always keep a close eye on what’s going on, though.

“I was able to get to the grand final last year which was great.

“If they hadn’t won a flag in 50 years or something then maybe but obviously things are going really well with the great man Wally Brear in charge.
