JACK Price knew it was going to be tough. After Wodonga Raiders’ season ended in disappointing fashion last year, Price had the hard job to let club officials know he would not be coming back next season.
That task got even harder as more players walked out the gates of Birallee Park.
Key names like Patty Rose, Ben Davies and Scott Meyer had moved on and the club was in the midst of an exodus.
But Price had no choice.
With increasing study and work placement commitments, Price could not commit to the rigours of another Ovens and Murray season.
But it didn’t make his decision to leave any easier — especially since he was on the doorstep of his 100th game.
“Letting the club know was pretty tough,” Price said.
