Border Mail |LAVINGTON officials have asked the Ovens and Murray league to investigate an incident that left reserves forward Jonathon Grove with a broken jaw.
Grove was involved in an off-the-ball incident during the second quarter against North Albury at Bunton Park on Saturday.
He underwent surgery in Melbourne yesterday.
The matter was on Monday referred to the league's investigation officer, who now has 21 working days to complete his investigation.
Grove is a former Hopper but crossed to rival club Lavington this year.
He has played in all five matches this season and booted seven goals.
Meanwhile, Albury ruckman Aisake O'hAilpin will front the O and M tribunal tonight after being charged by the match review panel.
O'hAilpin has been reported for engaging in rough conduct against Wodonga Raiders ruckman Dean Heta which in the circumstances was unreasonable.
