Match Reviews | HAY thrashed Ultima in Saturday’s rematch of the ’24 grand finalists in round three of the Golden Rivers senior footy season.

The Lions led 25-10 at quarter-time on Ultima’s ground and then slammed on 7.5 as it kept the Roos to tally of four goals in the second.

The Lions won the crucial third term, 15-5.

Although Ultima fought on to win the last, 16-9, Hay celebrated a 96-55 victory.

Jack Headon led the Lions’ attack on six goals as Declan and Jacob Watson added three and two goals.

Ultima’s leading goalkicker was Josh Dwyer on two.

Best for Hay were Brad Pocock, Jack Cattanach, Jack Headon, Joel Crocker, Jacob Watson and Harry Loughnan.

The Lions are coached by Jason Aylett and James Moran.

Ultima’s best were Zac Cattlin, Josh Dwyer, Matt Taverna, Jake Foster, Corey Grey and Ricky Wild.

The Kangaroos are coached by Mitch Seton-Stewart and Kyle Symons.
