Match Reviews | MOULAMEIN marked its biggest win in a long time as it upset reigning premier Ultima in Saturday’s seventh round in the Golden Rivers senior footy action.
After dominating most of the first half Moulamein led 36-11 at the long break.
Ultima hit back to score three goals in the third, but the Swans’ tally of 1.1 meant it led by 14 points going into the last term.
A high-scoring last quarter went Ultima’s way, 33-27, but it was Moulamein which celebrated a 70-62 victory.
Blake Launer led the Swans’ attack on three goals as Adam Saunders kicked two.
Ultima’s leading goalkickers were Corey Grey, Adam Symons and Matt Taverna on two.
Best for Moulamein were Heath Moloney, Blake Launer, Will Doquile, Mark Drotsky, Will Gibson and Ethan Fitzpatrick.
It was the second win of the season for the Brodie Tonkin and Hayden Dalitz-coached Moulamein.
Ultima’s best were Lachlan Bull, Thomas Bull, co-coach Mitch Seton-Stewart, Corey Grey, Lincoln Frost and Zac Cattlin.
The Kangaroos also have Kyle Symons as co-coach.
