Golden Rivers FNLMatch Reviews | ULTIMA broke Hay’s unbeaten streak in Saturday’s round eight clash in Golden Rivers senior footy.

Beaten by Hay in the rematch of the ’24 grand finalists in round three by 41 points it was Ultima which dominated the latest showdown at home.

The Kangaroos led 29-14 at quarter-time in Ultima and then scored six goals as it kept the ladder-leading Hay to a major in the second.

Hay hit back to win the third term, 27-25, but it was Ultima which held a 44-point buffer going into the last term.

Corey Grey kicked a match-high five goals as Ryan Devereux added two in what was a 113-63 victory for the Kangaroos.

Other multiple goalkickers for Ultima were Lachlan Bull, three, and co-coach Mitch Seton-Stewart on two.

Hay’s attack was led by Jack Headon and Declan Watson with three each.

Best for Ultima were Thomas Bull, Darcy Farrell, Corey Grey, Josh Dwyer, Lachlan Bull and Zac Cattlin.

It was a superb bounce-back by Ultima which has Kyle Symons as co-coach from an eight-point loss to Moulamein the previous round.
