By the main break North Bendigo led 47-35.
The Heathcote line-up coached by Andrew Saladino, non-playing, and Liam Jacques, playing, looked a great chance to end its winless run in the kennel after it scored 6.2 and held the Dogs to a tally of 3.6 in the third.
Going into the final term the Saints were up 73-71.
The last was dominated by the Bulldogs as they slammed on 11 goals and the Saints added two goals.
Heathcote was down to 17 on-field after Jacques was yellow-carded and sent off after being reported for striking.

The Bulldogs seized on the moment and surged to a 138-88 victory.
