Heathcote District FNLMatch Reviews | HEATHCOTE won another closely-fought contest with Harlowe Huntly Hawks in Saturday’s 12th round in Agnico Eagle Fosterville Gold Mine Heathcote DFNL senior footy.

The Saints and Hawks clash was at Pigeon Park in Heathcote’s Barrack Reserve.

Goalkicking accuracy was superb in the first quarter as Heathcote scored 7.0 and the Hawks were 4.0 at the break.

Huntly hit back to win the second term, 25-19.

A highly entertaining first hour ended with the Saints leading 61-49.

Goals were at a premium in the second half.

Heathcote added four behinds in the third term as Huntly scored two behinds.

The Hawks lifted their play to win the final quarter, 15-6, but it was Heathcote which clung on for a 71-66 victory.

Heathcote’s attack was led by Liam Jacques and Dylan Johnstone on three goals each as Stefan Rasinac slotted two.

Hawks’ gun forward Sam Dunstan was in great form as he kicked seven goals.

Best for the Saints were Justin Bateson, Stefan Rasinac, Dillon Williams, Hugh Freckleton, Daniel Johnstone and Will Tobin.
