queenscliffGeelong Advertiser |PLAYING coach Tom Limb took the responsibility for his own performance post-match when reflecting on his side's inaccuracy in its loss to the Geelong Amateur.

"I missed the opening shot of the game then Jak Evans hit the post and that was followed by another poster so we were 2.4 but that could have easily been 5.0," Limb said.

"If we apply that scoring pressure then we believe it is a totally different ball game when you've registered 5.0, but I'll put my hand up as will many and say that we need to start taking the opportunities as they are there."

The Coutas took complete control down back, holding the visitors goalless for the opening 20 minutes, but the defenders' work was not capitalised on.

"You have to look at guys like Jake Headley who is our captain and a solid defender, we were pretty confident that he was going to do the job on Mitch Day," Limb said.

"We have actually played Jake up on the wing earlier in the year, to try him out in a different position, and as a result he probably missed out on a spot in the Interleague team because he didn't get noticed.

"The last three weeks he's done the job down back on players like Matthew Deledio (Torquay) and of course today he kept Day to one goal for that first half.

"Overall the last two weeks may not have been wins however we have been impressed with the level of development from our boys.

"We keep reminding ourselves that we have 10 kids aged 18-19, our captain is 21 and our vice captain is 23 so our focus is just on continuing our same brand of footy and we'll do that this week against Newcomb."
