North Geelong FCGeelong Advertiser | NORTH Geelong coach Daniel Kee admits his team has learned a lot of lessons this season.

One of them is not to take teams lightly.

The Magpies were made to pay in their shock loss to Thomson a month ago and Kee said his side won’t make the same mistake against East Geelong on Saturday.

“We have to take them seriously and prepare for that,” Kee said.

“We saw against Thomson that when we dropped off they pulled our pants down. So we will be treating East Geelong as the biggest game that we can play.

“It was a harsh reality check and I’ve said (to the boys) that each week is the biggest game we play, it doesn’t matter who it’s against.

“I know it sounds cliche, but it really is one week at a time.

Kee lamented his team’s inconsistent month, which has included losses to Bell Post Hill and the Tigers.

“If you’re off your game you’re going to be beaten,” Kee said.

“The last four weeks now we have been inconsistent now in every game and have been lucky to get over the line in a couple of games.

“We are a young side and we are learning and once we fix that inconsistency and play four quarters then I think we are on the right track.”
