PimpinioWimmera-Mail Times|A SLOW start by Natimuk United cost it a chance at a victory on the road against Pimpinio.

The Rams booted only two behinds in the first term and were belted in the clearances, although the wayward Tigers kept them in the match with 2.9.

Natimuk United drew within a goal late in the second quarter but never hit the lead, and Pimpinio was able to re-establish a two-goal buffer at the main break.

Matt Ward continued his fine season for Pimpinio with three goals and young small forward Aaron Prior-Straud also had three.

Bernard Ward played well across half-forward for the Tigers despite the best efforts of undersized Natimuk United defender Matt Lovel, who competed hard all day.

Backman Callum Cameron was named the Rams' best player and Jacob Harris showed some promise in his senior debut.

Rams coach Simon Brearley said wet conditions made it hard for his to catch up after the first quarter.
