Wimmera-Mail Times| LAHARUM coach Shannon Argall has lauded the efforts of his team’s backline.
Argall said his players were to be applauded after holding Harrow-Balmoral to a solitary point in the second half of their Horsham District Football Netball League clash.
The unbeaten ladder leaders jumped out to a comfortable six-goal lead at the main break, but it was the efforts of his team in the second half that had Argall really pumped.
“It was a really good win. Harrow-Balmoral is third on the ladder so it was tough competition,” he said.
“The pressure throughout was pretty good, but we were very strong across the back-line. When we did have the ball we probably used it a little better. There’s no doubt they were undermanned. It wasn’t their strongest list.”
Argall singled out Tom Crawford for special mention saying he was back to his “excellent best” on the halfback-line.
Jay Harrison booted six goals for the victors while Harry Stent impressed in his second game in seniors.
For Harrow-Balmoral, Daniel Brody, Chris Heath and Daniel Rogers each kicked goals but the lack of firepower up front meant it was a difficult day at the office for the Roos.
The Roos need a big win against Rupanyup on Saturday to guarantee a third-place finish while Laharum will look to wrap up the minor premiership with victory against Jeparit-Rainbow.
