KRock Football | Eight players with AFL experience have been named in the initial 42-man GFL squad for the AFL Victoria Community Championships 1v2 clash with Eastern at Etihad Stadium on May 19.
Leopold duo Tom Ruggles (Geelong) and Billie Smedts (Geelong and Carlton), Colac star Jonthan Simpkin (Geelong, Hawthorn & Essendon), Lara coach Tony Armstrong (Adelaide, Sydney & Collingwood), South Barwon recruit Louis Herbert (Gold Coast), North Shore coach Sam Darley (Western Bulldogs and GWS Giants), St Mary’s spearhead Tom Gillies (Melbourne and Geelong) and Grovedale key position player Cam Delaney (North Melbourne) have all been named by new coach Clinton Wells.
