AFL BarwonK Rock Football | AFL Barwon has left the door open to extending the GFL and BFL seasons if restrictions on community sport remain in place until mid-August.

The local governing body has released a six-page “roadmap” to clubs covering scenarios for a return to play on July 31, August 7 and August 14, including women’s and underage football and junior netball.

If play wasn’t to resume until August 14, the GFL grand final would be played on either the AFL Grand Final public holiday on Friday, September 24 or Sunday, September 26.

The BFL grand final would be pushed back to the weekend of September 11-12, with Sunday looming as the likely option so as not to clash with the GDFL decider.
