K Rock Football | With its first win of the season in the bank, Modewarre will look to climb off the bottom of the Bellarine ladder.
The Warriors put three consecutive losses behind them with a 43-point win over Queenscliff at Mt Moriac Reserve last week.
However, they remain last, a meagre .01 per cent behind first-round conquerors Ocean Grove.
Depending on other results, a win over Newcomb at Grinter Reserve would have Modewarre only percentage outside the top five.
“I think they’re all eight-point games,” coach Mark Hovey said when asked about the tightness of the competition.
“You might even get into the finals with 10 wins this year, so everyone’s important.
“You can’t take anyone for granted.
“And now we’ve got a bit of momentum, hopefully, we can carry that on this weekend and both teams can have another win.”
