K Rock Football | St Joseph’s has suffered a blow ahead of its traditional Anzac Day meeting with South Barwon, with an ankle injury sidelining playing coach James Gow.
The star midfielder suffered the injury in the first half of the loss to Newtown & Chilwell but played out the match.
“I went over on it in a tackle,” Gow said. “I couldn’t really walk on Sunday, so I sat on the couch with the leg up,”
“The physio had a look at it on Monday and said it’s probably a couple-week injury. I’ve had a few issues with my ankles throughout my career.
“Hopefully, I’ll be back for the St. Mary’s game.”
Gow says Joeys, who last lost to South on Anzac Day in 2013, is keen to bounce back following last week’s 47-point loss to Newtown & Chilwell on the other side of Autumn Street.
