K Rock Football | St Albans coach Rick Munn admits the bye has come at a good time for his injury-ravaged team, after finishing Saturday’s 66-point loss to South Barwon with just 16 fit players.
The days of Cody Brogden (knee) and Tyson Roberts (ankle) were done by half-time, while hamstring issues impacted Tom Caudullo, Bailey Coutts and Nathan Cole, and Lucas Gray was battling groin soreness.
Despite the final margin, much of it the result of a 10-goal final term from the home team, Munn was pleased with the Supersaints’ effort, especially in the first half at McDonald Reserve.
“We felt like we were in the game, and we were challenging them, and they were challenging us, and it was a good game of footy,” Munn said.
“They got a goal late, pretty much on the siren, that took it from nine to 15 points."
