Match Previews | The Hampden FNL enjoyed a highly successful interleague weekend, highlighted by a thrilling senior football victory over the Ballarat FNL in a contest that went right down to the final moments.

It was a determined and spirited performance from a committed group of players who proudly represented the Bottle Green and showcased the depth of talent within the competition.

The senior side’s win was built on pressure, resilience and a genuine team-first attitude, with several players stepping up in key moments throughout the afternoon.

Ryley Hutchins was recognised for his outstanding contribution, earning the Umpires Best on Ground honours after an influential four-quarter performance.

Lucas Edmonds also received deserved recognition, securing the Richard Nixon Medal as voted by the HFNL coaches.

A huge credit must go to the Hampden FNL coaching panel, led superbly by Nathan Vardy. Vardy created an environment where players were enthusiastic and eager to represent the league, while the quality and experience of the assistant coaches was evident throughout the campaign.

Brendan Cunnington, Matt McLaren, Ben Nicholson and Fowie all brought impressive coaching credentials and helped drive a professional and united program.
