The Early Crow

Hampden FNLMatch Previews | One of the stories of the season in the Hampden FNL has been the return of Ben Cunnington to senior football after a year-long absence due to health issues.

"Cunners" played just his second game of the season last weekend and showed he still has plenty left in the tank, kicking five goals in Warrnambool's victory over Terang Mortlake at Reid Oval in front of a healthy crowd.

It was also great to see former North Melbourne teammate Todd Goldstein in attendance watching the No. 23 back in action.

The Blues have shown significant improvement over the past few weeks and, with the addition of Cunnington, have firmly established themselves as a genuine premiership contender.

Over the next fortnight, much of the spotlight will be on North Warrnambool Eagles midfielder Matthew Wines. This weekend, Wines will equal the Hampden FNL games record of 360 matches, joining Koroit's
Damian Dobson at the top of the all-time list.

The following week promises to be one of the biggest occasions in the club's history, with Wines set to break the record and play his 361st game when the Eagles host Warrnambool.
