The Tigers inflicted a 67-point beating on Ocean Grove, a scoreline that flattered the visitors as Torquay amassed 43 scoring shots to 11.

Coach Dom Gleeson is under no illusions his side is now the hunted as it moves a game clear on top of the BFL ladder.

“We are the hunted, I suppose the boys would rather it be that way than have to hunt someone else,” Gleeson said.

“Clubs are coming out very hard against us; we just didn’t embrace it early. But to the boys’ credit in the second half we really knuckled down to our structures and played pretty well.

“I just want the boys to have some confidence now. Last year they were very stiff to miss out on playing off for the flag. I suppose there’s a sense of that (keeping a lid on it).

“We’re confident in-house without going over the top."
