Weekly Times | RIDDELL District league battlers Woodend-Hesket strung together consecutive wins for the first time in four years on Saturday.
The Hawks sailed home to win by seven points against Wallan, after trailing by 37 points at quarter-time and 44 points at the main change. In his first year with the club, playing coach Ross Sleight said he didn’t pull any punches in his quarter-time address.
“I basically questioned the players’ character and attitude ... once we rectified the turnovers we looked better.”
Woodend-Hesket moved to two wins and five losses with the victory.
