Weekly Times | SWANPOOL Football Netball Club may finally have its day in court.
The club’s civil case against the Ovens and King Football League have been set down for Shepparton Magistrates Court from December 9. Three days has been allocated for the hearing.
Swanpool did not enter a three-way merger with Tatong and Goorambat in 2013 under a recommendation of a review completed by AFL North East Border. Neither Swanpool nor Tatong have had on-field representation in the league since the end of that season.
In the suit, filed last year, the club is alleging the league acted in an oppressive manner, and amended its claim to seek $25,000 compensation and be included in the 2016 fixture, rather than 2015.
The VCAT hearings between former Morwell coach Dean Warren and assistant Nick Johnstone against their former club and the Gippsland league are scheduled for next week.
