KYNETON has posted its first win since returning to the Bendigo Football League's senior ranks this year.

The Tigers were deadlocked with South Bendigo early in the last quarter of yesterday's Round 4 clash, but kicked away to post an eight-point triumph, 16.16 (112) to 16.8 (104).

Ben Weightman was the main destroyer with eight goals.

It was the Tigers' first win since July 2012.

Kyneton was forced to withdraw its senior side last year due to a lack of players.

BATTLING club Cobram failed to score in its 166-point loss to Mulwala in Round 3 of the Murray Football League yesterday.

The Tigers lost their opening round matches to Nathalia by 122 points and Barooga by 117 points, but managed to kick four goals in each outing.

Mulwala forward Chase Strawhorn booted 11 goals yesterday and Will Farrer added six as the Lions piled on 25.16 (166).

GEELONG Football League goliath South Barwon has suffered consecutive losses for the first time since 2010.

The Swans, who have won seven of the past nine premierships, fell 11 points short of St Joseph's in their Anzac Day clash after losing their Round 2 match against St Mary's.

St Joseph's kicked three goals to one in the first term on Friday and were never headed, with Rhys Hultgren booting a match-high three goals.

South Barwon now finds itself in unfamiliar territory with just one win after three rounds, after losing just five home-and-away games in the past three years.

NEWLY merged club Casterton-Sandford has claimed its first win.

The Cats, in the Western Border Football League, defeated Millicent 13.19 (97) to 5.8 (38) in yesterday's Round 2 encounter.

Casterton and Sandford merged over summer to shore up the future of both clubs.

Sandford previously played in the South West District league.

WARRAGUL Industrials made its premiership intentions clear with a convincing 36-point win over likely finalist Buln Buln yesterday.

After a slow start, the Dusties slotted six goals to two in the second half to win the low-scoring encounter 10.13 (73) to 5.7 (37) and hand Buln Buln its first loss of the season.

The Dusties and Nyora are the only undefeated clubs after three rounds in the inaugural season of the Ellinbank and District league's East Division.
