VICTORIAN Premier Denis Napthine will toss the coin at the opening game of the Hampden Football League season.
Napthine, a resident of Port Fairy and former resident of Portland, will be guest of honour at the Round 1 match between those two town's teams at Hanlon Park, Portland on April 13.
It will be Portland's first game in the Hampden league, after transferring from the Western Border competition over summer.
A spokeswoman from Napthine's office said the former Hamilton Imperials player was a huge footy fan.
"He'll be there to wish the boys good luck in the change rooms before the game and he'll probably know a lot of the players personally.''
Napthine is also the No. 1 ticket-holder at South West District club Tyrendarra.
