2012footyalert05Finals footy is here....The first Grand Final in the WorkSafe VCFL is to be held at the picturesque Ensay Oval between the Omeo District League rivals Swifts Creek and Lindenow South.

This is a replay of last year's Grand Final with Swifts Creek looking for their third flag in a row.

It is always high scoring football in the Omeo League and it is a beautiful part of the state to visit. Have a road trip this weekend to the hills of Gippsland...This is Greatness !!

AROUND THE GROUNDS

Bendigo FL -
The top two teams Gisborne and Golden Square played out a draw on Saturday. A mouth watering prospect with the finals around the corner and hoping they play each other again.

Central Highlands FL
- Daylesford got the double chance in the finals by defeating Waubra on Saturday - Hepburn, Buninyong and Bungaree all on equal points in top 3.

Colac DFNL
- South Colac knocked out Simpson in the Elimination Final by just 5 points, while Lorne moves a step closer with a 3 point win over Birregurra. Close Finals Footy To Be Continued.

Gippsland
- Sale and Leongatha look to be the favourites heading into the Gippsland Finals. Will be massive if Leongatha can go all the way under the new coach and in tough circumstances for the second half of the season for the club.

Heathcote DFL
- Heathcote defeated a wobbly Colbinabbin to go a step further while North Bendigo defeated the much improved Huntly to knock them out of the finals. Michael Spooner kicked 10 goals for North Bendigo and will face Colbi next weekend.
Heathcote to test their wares against the reigning premier LBU.

Mid Gippsland
- Boolarra and Morwell East also drew their last round in the regular season. Morwell East will meet Yinnar in the Elimination Final this weekend.

Ovens & Murray
- Brendan Fevola could be just the 3rd player to kick 100 goals in a season in Yarrawonga Pigeon history if he can boot 6 this weekend against Albury North. It will be the biggest ground invasion in country footy if it happens!
