Vic Country proved a class above the Victorian Amateur Football Association in today's two big games at St Albans Reserve.
While the Country boys fell to Metro in the main game at Werribee's Avalon Airport Oval, the boys from the bush were too strong in both the U19s hit-out and VAFA Prem B – Div 4 V Victoria Country representative clash.
In the early match the EnergySafe Vic Country U19s stormed to a huge win over the VAFA, keeping the Ammos scoreless after quarter time on the way to a 123-point triumph.
Jydon Neagle, the son of Merv, was named best on ground for the Country side after dominating the midfield, but was one of many who shone for the winners.
Brady Egan and James Hayes were instrumental early when the game was there to be won, while Tom Atkins in the middle and Andrew Nelson in defence were others to play major roles.
The Ammos never gave up but were ultimately overwhelmed by Country's bigger bodies.
Vice Captains Anthony Scott and Tom Silvestro led the resistance.
