CAMPBELLS CREEK - have faced a horror past month in which they’ve copped the top four sides and lost to them all. Still hanging onto their position in the top eight ahead of a home clash with battling Trentham.

TRENTHAM - nine losses in a row now for the Saints, who haven’t won since beating Maldon by five points in round three. Doesn’t get any easier from here, with their remaining opponents all in the top eight.

DUNOLLY v TALBOT - 2.35pm Saturday at Dunolly.

DUNOLLY - after breaking through for their first win, were unable to back it up last week when defeated by Maldon. Struggling to impact the scoreboard, having only kicked one score above 60 for the season.

TALBOT - moved a step closer to their first finals berth since 2008 last week with a crucial 39-point win over Harcourt. Now up to seventh and should make it two wins in a row for the first time this season.

HARCOURT v NEWSTEAD - 2.35pm Saturday at Harcourt.

Last time: Round 14, 2013: Harcourt 15.14 (104) d Newstead 8.7 (55).

Since 2004: Harcourt 12; Newstead 8; Drawn 1.

HARCOURT - slipped a game outside the top eight last week when beaten by Talbot in third loss in a row. Pressure is now on to upset Newstead at home, but the Lions are 0-7 against sides currently in the top eight. 

NEWSTEAD - still far from their best, but have won their past two and remain a game clear in fourth position. Patrick Cummins, David Wall and Michael Dalrymple leading the way for the Steaders recently.

ROVERS v MALDON - 2.35pm Saturday at Jubilee Oval.

Since 2004: Maldon 9; Rovers 6.

ROVERS - lost their past five games, but a chance to get back on the winner’s list against the bottom-placed Bombers. They are -66 points in last quarters their past five games, so will want to get on top early.

MALDON - finally notched up their first win of the season last week, defeating Dunolly by 27 points. With confidence back in the group, can they turn it into two in a row and get off the bottom of the ladder?

NATTE BEALIBA v NAVARRE - 2.35pm Saturday at Natte Yallock.

Last time: Semi-final, 2013: Navarre 15.11 (101) d Natte Bealiba 10.9 (69).

NATTE BEALIBA - won their past three to keep in the hunt for the double chance, but now face the MCDFL’s ultimate test at Navarre. Will need the trio of Ryan Weir, Zac Perez and Matt Stagg to fire inside 50 again.

NAVARRE - of the undefeated reigning premier’s 12 wins, 10 have been by at least 69 points. Ashley Driscoll the only MCDFL player to have kicked a goal in every game his team has played. He has bagged 62.

TIP: Navarre by 55.

CARISBROOK v LEXTON - 2.35pm Sunday at Carisbrook.

Last time: Qualifying final, 2013: Carisbrook 23.12 (150) d Lexton 2.6 (18).

Since 2011: Carisbrook 5; Lexton 0.

CARISBROOK - not they hype around the Redbacks of last year, but they continue to perform strongly and have strung together seven wins in a row. Liam Cunningham has kicked 39 goals in those seven victories. 

LEXTON - never beaten Carisbrook since joining the MCDFL. It has been touted former AFL ruckman Darren Jolly will play his first game this season in what’s a bumper clash between second and third.
