The Red Onion Creative Ballarat Football League U/16.5 Interleague side will again play AFL Cairns in a one off match at the Mars City Oval in a twilight match on Friday 5th April 2013 at 4:00pm.

Operations Manager said, "This is a fantastic opportunity that has presented itself for some of our U/16.5 kids to play against a quality opposition in AFL Cairns. We are also extremely excited about showcasing the best talent our U/16.5 competition has to offer. This will be the fourth time we will have played AFL Cairns and it's a great relationship to have as the experience it provides for the boys is like nothing else"

BFL U/16.5 Interleague Coach Greg Stewart said, "This is a great initiative and a fantastic opportunity for a number of players to represent their league against some quality opposition. For some players, this will be their first time representing the BFL and I think they are as excited about the match as we are."

Last night at the side's final training session, the final squad was announced that will take on AFL Cairns. The following players will represent the Ballarat Football League on Friday 5th April:

2013 will mark the fourth consecutive year this match will have been played and with the score leaning the way of the BFNL, the match should prove to be a great spectacle. AFL Cairns were successful in 2010 and the Ballarat Football League was able to record a victories in 2011 and 2012. Both leagues are very much looking forward to the match on Friday night to see who can gain the competitive advantage.
