Bendigo FLThe Bendigo Umpires Association and the Bendigo Junior Football League are looking forward to added assistance from some well known and respected Bendigo Football Netball League players.

The South Bendigo FNC and the Eaglehawk FNC have both supported the concept of Senior players providing some umpiring assistance to their Junior affiliates and will do so throughout the 2013 BJFL season in the Under 12,14 & 16's.

Both Dean Goodridge (BUA) and Chris Lloyd (BJFL) echoed the same sentiments "It is great to have the Senior players support the Juniors. The kids really get a kick out of having some of their idol's out on the field with them. "
Julian Lake & Aaron Connaughton (South Bendigo) and Matt Gretgrix (Eaglehawk) have been instrumental in co-ordinating the Senior players support for this program.

"It will be great for the Senior guys to do some umpiring and help out the BUA and the BJFL. It will also be good for them as individuals to see the game from the other side of the whistle" Lake said.

BFNL Chairman Paul Byrne said " This is a fantastic initiative and South Bendigo & Eaglehawk Clubs are to be congratulated. The BFNL is looking for our other Clubs to follow suit. It is crucial that at both Club & League levels that the BFNL & BJFL are working together"
